Herd Data & Registration
Whole Herd Reporting

Rather than the traditional calf-based registration fee structure that discourages the reporting of complete contemporary group information, the Association will use Whole Herd Reporting which uses an inventory-based fee structure or annual assessment charge on all reproductively mature animals.  This system requires the reporting of annual production and performance records on all cattle whthin a herd, but the responsibility of selecting which calves are worthy of registration remains with the breeder.

In order to assist each of our members in tracking the performance of their cattle, we are compiling all cattle records and integrating them with the GPS (Genetic Performance Solutions, LLC) data system.  This will take some time but once in place, each member will have access to the system and will be able to retrieve information on their cattle as well as compare their individual information with that of the entire breed.  We know what these remarkable cattle are capable of, and with the backing of a strong membership we will be able to promote Akaushi cattle, educate our fellow cattle producers and in the process, change the industry.

"Go paperless"  You can record your calves by logging onto GPS and following a few simple instructions.   Call the Association for assistance in getting started.  Or, if you prefer, print the application below, fill in the appropriate information and mail it in.

Just think of this program as a kind of branded program for replacement heifers.  In today's beef cattle industry, branded programs are the main topic of discussion.  It gives the buyer assurance that these cattle are at least 50% Akaushi.  Retain your replacement females and embed the influence of Akaushi within your existing herd creating an increased market value with every new generation.  With the Akaushi A4 Program, breed up to purebred Akaush in just four generations.

*    Participants must be a member of the American Akaushi Association and sign an F1 Program contract.
*
Herd inspection is not mandatory until the 15/16th cross.  Inspections will be performed by an approved breed inspector.  In order to receive Purebred certification cattle must meet the criteria in the American Akaushi Association Rules and Regulations.
*    There is no fee for enrolling your base females.
*   DNA testing is required to insure the value of your product.
